While in Italy, I was immersed in the luxury consumerism culture. This trip expanded my mind in Global Sourcing, Sustainability, European Retailing, Small Business Market, Large Retailing, Design, and even Feather Design. Myself and other students had an opportunity to visit different fashion firms where we met with the Chief Executive Officers, Designers, Production Team and have a seminar with them. We were welcomed into their actual ateliers, showroom, department stores, fashion schools, and learn about the business in all details. In addition, we visited many cities and museums, e.g. Gucci Garden, Salvatore Ferragamo museum, Armani Silos in Milan. We also had a special opportunity to visit the oldest silk production mill in Florence, where the machinery are designed according to Da Vinci sketches and they collaborate with various designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Pucci, & others.
